Job Description
The Analyst will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of investment, development and asset management, and can expect to be staffed on a number of projects simultaneously
Due to the relatively small size of the development team, the Analyst will be expected to assume integral roles on deal teams
The Analyst will work on a wide range of transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, development, debt financing, portfolio acquisitions and joint ventures
The analyst will provide analytical support on existing projects and assist with presentations and reports to Hines investors
Additionally the Analyst will be expected to progress to a project management role to execute the investment strategy of approved deals
This position will be based in Moscow and will require a minimum commitment of three years
Responsibilities
Assist the development team in evaluating investment opportunities across all sectors
Assess relevant entitlement, legislative and tax issues and their impact on investment decisions
Produce complex financial models with multi-tier equity waterfalls, debt, and tax structures
Generate detailed macro and micro level research and assessment reports
Assist in the preparation of memoranda and books for internal and external use
Provide active support during the due diligence and closing process
Assist in the project management or asset management of approved investments
Assist in various special projects with other Hines departments
Required Skills and Qualifications
Exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem solving, writing, interpersonal and communication skills
Advanced financial modeling skills and experience in real estate valuation and underwriting
Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Understanding of accounting, finance and real estate fundamentals
Desire to be a pro-active, dynamic and highly motivated member of a close-knit team of professionals who work in a collaborative environment
Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure
Fluency in English and Russian
Minimum Degree
Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, physics or related, from a top tier university with history of stellar academic performance
Required Experience
Hines seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors
Desirable 1-3 years relevant corporate finance and business analysis skills gained from experience within a leading investment bank, Big Four accounting firm, capital markets advisory firm, strategy consulting firm, or a real estate fund are desirable
